Checking the engine oil level

Preparatory work
- Stand the motorcycle upright on a horizontal surface.
Main work
- Check the engine oil level.
Info After switching off the engine, wait one minute before checking the level.
     - Add the engine oil.
» When the engine oil level is above the B marking:
     - Correct the engine oil level.
Changing the engine oil and oil filter, cleaning the oil screens
Warning
Danger of scalding Engine oil and gear oil get very hot when the motorcycle is ridden.
- Wear suitable protective clothing and safety gloves.
- In the event of scalding, rinse the area affected immediately with lukewarm water.

- Dispose of oils, grease, filters, fuel, cleaning agents, brake fluid, etc., correctly and in compliance with the applicable regula- tions.

Drain the engine oil only when the engine is warm.
Preparatory work
- Remove the front spoiler.
- Stand the motorcycle on its side stand on a horizontal surface.
Main work
- Place a suitable container under the engine.
- Remove oil drain plug 1 with the O-ring.
- Remove oil screen 2 with the O-ring.
- Remove screw plug 3 with oil screen 4.
- Completely drain the engine oil.
- Thoroughly clean the oil drain plugs and oil screens.
- Position oil screen 2 and mount and tighten oil drain plug 1 with the O-ring.

- Pull oil filter 7 out of the oil filter housing.
- Completely drain the engine oil.
- Thoroughly clean the parts and sealing surface.
- Insert new oil filter 7.
- Lubricate the O-ring of the oil filter cover. Mount oil filter cover 6.
- Mount and tighten the screws.

Too little engine oil or poor-quality engine oil results in premature wear to the engine.

- Remove the oil filler plug 1 with the O-ring from the clutch cover and fill up with engine oil.

In order to achieve optimal engine performance, it is not advisable to mix differ- ent engine oils.
We recommended changing the engine oil when necessary.
- Install and tighten the oil filler plug with the O-ring.
